Thai media monitoring panels spark media fears over media rights

The Thai Journalists Association (TJA) will today demand the junta clearly outline the fundamental rights and freedoms of the media. The move follows the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO)’s decision to set up five panels to monitor all media content and reported raids by troops on two major media outlets to prevent the reporting of a news story. The journalist association fears further restrictions on the media. Most radio stations remain closed.
