About the Role

Based in Southbank, Melbourne, the VIC/TAS Master Control (MCR) team is seeking an MCR Operator with effective leadership skills to perform the vital role in monitoring, and supporting our production teams with content contribution and distribution needs.

On an average day you will be monitoring and working with our scheduling systems recognising and addressing conflicting scheduling instructions, along with vital switching and routing of content for both transmission and production needs.

This busy role, will also see you responsible for engaging with third party vendors as you work to rectify transmission and distribution faults, as well as the monitoring of ABC analogue and digital platforms across Victoria & Tasmania.

About You

You will have an eye for detail, be a exceptional communicator and have the ability to work in a time sensitive, pressure environment.  Along with the ability to work well independently, you share a passion with your team for exceeding expectations on delivery. You’re an adept problem solver and have a natural talent to think on your feet, whilst displaying calm and confident front in times of uncertainly.
You possess outstanding experience in an MCR &/or Broadcast operations environment, with the understanding and ability to blend both the operational and technical elements in a cohesive manner.
You are an exceptional communicator and negotiator, with solid interpersonal skills and good work acumen and have extensive knowledge of on-air transmission operations.
Due to the nature of this role, you must be able to commit to work in a 24/7 rotating roster environment.
