We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Broadcast Technologist to join our team in Tasmania. Based at either Launceston or Hobart, you will be part of a team responsible for maintaining studios, transmitters and associated equipment across 6 radio markets, 5 studio sites and 15 transmission sites.

About the role:

As a Senior Broadcast Technologist, you’ll be the guardian of our on‑air reliability and studio performance. You’ll keep studios, production environments and streaming services operating smoothly, jump on faults fast, and drive a proactive maintenance rhythm so issues are found and fixed before they impact listeners. • Run a disciplined maintenance program: Adhere to and improve preventative maintenance schedules for all broadcasting and technical equipment in line with quality standards, policy, and priorities.
  • Document with precision: Record additions, changes and configurations to broadcast and studio infrastructure clearly and accurately so the team can support and scale confidently.
  • Support broadcast systems end‑to‑end: Provide hardware and software support for broadcast computer platforms and IP‑based audio systems, ensuring stable, secure and well‑configured operations.
  • Build and maintain the backbone: Install and maintain infrastructure and cabling across studios and the data centre facility to best‑practice standards.
  • Radio transmitter sites
    • Protect signal integrity: Monitor transmission signals and fail‑safe systems to ensure the continuous, effective operation of radio transmitter sites.
    • Stay ahead with preventive care: Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance on technical equipment and transmitter buildings in accordance with quality standards, policy, and priorities.
  • IT collaboration
    • Solve user issues together: Collaborate closely with the IT team to provide comprehensive hardware and software support for computers, efficiently diagnosing and professionally resolving user issues.

About you:

  • 5+ years of experience in AM/FM/UHF & STL radio transmission systems, infrastructure, monitoring and best practices
  • Radio production infrastructure and operational knowledge. Ideally, both analog and IP-based.
  • Infrastructure and cabling installation experience.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • You love deep-diving into systems, perfecting documentation and installations.
  • Technical-related knowledge and experience in commercial broadcasting.
