Gary O'Callaghan's funeral has been confirmed for 1pm this Monday at St Agnes, Port Macquarie.
The former Sydney radio icon passed away last week aged 83.

O'Callaghan moved back to the mid north coast of NSW and continued to work at 2MC.

When Richard Glover was rejected by 2UE

Sunday 02 July, 2017

It may have been the biggest talent scouting blunder since The DECCA record company’s Dick Rowe passed up the opportunity to sign The Beatles.

Rowe is believed to have told their manager that "Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein.”

That was (as legend has it) in 1962.

Alan Jones credits radio star-maker John Brennan with discovering him but not everyone at 2UE shared Brennan’s faith. At first, station management agreed to put him on Mornings with a big name female co-host but Brenno insisted he do it alone or not at all.

Thursday 01 September, 2016
