Ben ‘The Wood’ Wood will be returning to the Gold Coast to join Gold 92.5’s Bridge & Spida for Breakfast as anchor from Monday March 18.
 
Ben has an extensive radio resume with experience in a variety of roles and comes, his most recent stint as Assistant Content Director with Triple M in Melbourne.
He was also was heard anchoring The Rush Hour across Brisbane and the Gold Coast over the past couple of years.

Gold FM’s Breakfast team, Richard, Bridge and Spida, are ‘Giving Back’ to the Gold Coast community by renovating the Nerang Roosters Junior Rugby League Club tomorrow.

When Gold FM heard the club needed a serious reno, they recruited local businesses to jump on board to lend equipment, supplies and manpower to give the Roosters Club the attention it needed with a full day working bee.

Over the past 2 weeks, listeners have won the chance to join the Kiwi’s or Aussies in the showdown.

If the Aussies win, Richard will have to shave his head and spray paint it green and gold and if the Kiwis win, Richard will show his NZ pride by plastering ferns all over his car.

92.5 Gold FM’s Richard, Bridge and Spida are on a mission to stamp out school bullying with the installation of a Buddy Bench at Gold and Tweed Coast schools.

This week the trio spoke to Charlie from Cairns, a nine-year-old boy who came up with the idea of the Buddy Bench. 

The Buddy Bench is a permanent bench at school where children are encouraged to sit when they are feeling left out or bullied. If a classmate sees someone sitting on the bench they are urged to invite them to play, walk, or talk with them.

Many things have changed at the Gold Coast media centre since Jason Matthews resigned as PD from the duopoly in 2009. For a start there’s somebody else, Andrew Very, doing his old job. And the company was then owned by Macquarie Southern Cross. Plus, current owners Southern Cross Austereo have since built flash new studios at Broadbeach.
