While most radio newsreaders report the world’s tragedies from the comfort of a cosy studio, 2Day’s Geoff Field laughs in the face of danger. Or at least his listeners laugh in the face of the danger he faces.
The Kyle and Jackie O show newsreader has been turfed out of a plane, hung off Centrepoint tower and stranded in the desert as part of the station’s ” Scare Geoff ” campaign.
Now Geoff will be swapping his reading duties, for spinning discs, in a fundraiser at Sydney’s Stonewall hotel this Friday night to kick off Sydney’s Mardi Gras weekend. Geoff promises to play a swag of camp classics including Kylie, Madonna, Abba and even Gina G.
All proceeds go to the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation and the fun starts at 10pm sharp.
The next day Geoff will be heading back to work again to host a Mardi Gras special with Lizzie Lovette between 3pm and 5pm.
