2MBS Bazaar – New Records for Boring Titles

The 2MBS FM Book and Record Bazaar is on in Sydney and, once again, the quest is on to find the most boring title.

Since 1997, the most boring book donated has been listed. The original winner was A History of Concreting in Sweden!

This year’s nominations are: Lectures on Early Welsh Poetry; Get Around in Welsh; and The Dashboard Revolution – a practical guide to car instrumentation.

The Bazaar is on until Sunday (18 July) at the Willoughby Civic Centre in Victoria Avenue, Chatswood.

With a major makeover, the new, larger venue allows virtually the entire volume of books, LPs and CDs to be displayed simultaneously.

The books range from the usual historic tomes, paperbacks, gardening and cookery, to rare editions which will excite connoisseurs.

This year’s 80 000 LP selection is particularly strong, with rare classical, jazz and rock albums jostling for space with sublime easy living compendia, featuring Lawrence Welk and Mantovanni. The CD selection is equally impressive.

All stock is priced to sell, since this year’s bazaar is much shorter than the traditional period.
