Arabic language commercial station 2ME (Sydney 1638 AM, Melbourne 1638AM) recently commissioned Quadrant research to conduct a survey of Arabic speaking listeners in Sydney. The survey found that 90% of people who listen to Arabic language radio listen to 2ME more than they listen to 2DAY and MIXFM and more than they read Arabic newspapers. There are 122,600 Arabic language speakers in Sydney. The station has been open since 1996. Other Arabic radio stations/programs in Sydney include SBS Radio, 2000FM and Voice of Islam.
