The early morning news half hour at 5am on 2UE has been axed and John Kerr’s program has been extended to 5.30 again.

Program Director Sandy Aloisi has told Sue Javes that the program was a “great service” but “could not be justified at that time of the day.”

Early mornings is a low ratings timeslot, although it is important for creating a successful lead-in to the breakfast show.

In other Sydney talk radio news, Malcolm T Elliot has been “disciplined” by 2GB for his ‘monkey’ comments concerning Indonesians.
