2XX farewells S.I.N.G.E.D

2XX has announced the long-running and long-loved programme S.I.N.G.E.D will broadcast its last show on Wednesday 9 September.

S.I.N.G.E.D (which stands for Synth-Pop, Industrial, Noise, Gothic, Electronica, Darkwave but is known coequally as ‘that goth show’) has been part of the 2XX FM line-up since 2000, broadcasting every Wednesday night from 9.30 to 10.30pm.

S.I.N.G.E.D catered to those with a taste for the melancholy, regularly, but not exclusively, playing tracks with a darker side. The programme has played an active role in promoting local independent talent by organising and promoting concerts, and even inviting musicians to perform live in the studio.

It attracted listeners from Canberra to Melbourne to as far afield as Reykjavík, Iceland.
