50 years in radio for John O’Callaghan

Today, July 8, is John O’Callaghan’s 65th birthday. This year is his 50th in the radio industry.

O’Callaghan started at 2UE at age 15 alongside his famous father Gary. He was a Panel Operator and Production Assistant before getting his first on-air role at 2KO Newcastle. From there he worked on air and in the Newsroom and in Production in NSW and QLD at 2KA Penrith, 2NZ Inverell, 2WG Wagga, 2CS in Coffs, 4AK Toowoomba and 2GZ Orange.
John is pictured here at his current home of Radio 531 in Port Macquarie where he’s worked since 2000 as the Station Manager, News Director, Production Guru, Music Director, tech guru and any other job that comes up!
