92.9 Triple M Perth’s Kick Over The Swan kicks off

A lot of footballs were attempted to be kicked across the Swan River on Saturday May 4 when 92.9 Triple M launched their inaugural Kick Over the Swan to see who could boot a Sherrin the furthest distance to win $10,000.

Morning announcer, Angie Ayers hosted a live broadcast, whilst breakfast hosts Xavier Ellis and Michelle Anderson watched 10 contestants from local Perth football clubs drop punt, torpedo, banana and even dribble the football across the Western Australian landmark. There were also a few familiar faces that had a punt too in the Celebrity round, including Channel 7’s Ryan Daniels, former West Coast Eagles player, Andrew Embley, WAFL player, Hamish Brayshaw and Triple M’s Weekend Huddle presenter, Dani Shuey.

Ellis said:

“I’ve kicked a few belters in my time playing AFL, but watching everyone boot the footy over the Swan River was truly awesome!”

The winner was James King with a 52 metres kick who scored himself $5,000 as well as $5,000 for his club, Quinns Districts Football Club.
