92.7 MIX FM launches Give Me 5 Appeal at Australia Zoo

The Give Me 5 For Kids appeal launched at Australia Zoo this morning, where the zoo opened its doors for free to sick children and their families.

92.7 MIX FM’s Mark and Caroline began the campaign with a live radio broadcast. Give Me 5 For Kids has been running for 13 years and has raised a total of $2.3 million so far.

This follows the announcement that Give Me 5 for Kids on the Sunshine Coast will have its own bus, painted by children from the Nambour Children’s Ward and a world renowned local artist.

Kendall Perkins, a long-time supporter of the Sunshine Coast’s bid to raise money for the local hospital’s children’s health services, will help local children to paint the special bus this Friday at the Australia Zoo launch of 92.7 MIX FM’s Give Me 5 for Kids appeal.

The Give Me 5 for Kids painted bus, a kind donation from Go Transit, will help the annual appeal by increasing awareness right across the sunshine coast, as well as instilling a sense of pride in the community and those who help with the creation.

On June 1st 92.7 MIX FM will host Jessie’s Party in the Park, a fundaraser party to carry on the legacy of Jessie Schroder, a young girl who lost her battle to cancer in January 2009.

This important appeal relies on the support of the Sunshine Coast community and the generosity of local businesses like Go Transit. And of course, all money raised within the local community stays with the local community.
