ABC to cover Tour Down Under

Australia’s most prestigious cycling event, the Tour Down Under starts this weekend.

ABC Grandstand SA’s Peter Walsh and Anthony Tucker will be joining forces with cycling champion Patrick Jonker to cover the two wheel action.

From Sunday the ABC will be broadcasting audio previews, team and rider interviews, race updates and live coverage of stage finishes, as well as race analysis and results.

 Stage One begins from Murray Street, Nuriootpa with Ian Henschke broadcasting 891 Mornings live from 9am with Walsh and Jonker.

SA’s Country Hour will continue with live state wide coverage from Nuriootpa between 12pm – 1pm.

The Tour Down Under coverage can be heard on 891 ABC Adelaide and regional Local Radio stations across South Australia and  Broken Hill on analogue radio. On 891 ABC Adelaide digital radio (weekdays) and Grandstand on digital radio (weekends);   and  will also be streamed via  the ABC Radio Smartphone App and the website www.abc.net.au/adelaide
