ABC Radio Adelaide‘s morning presenter David Bevan has confirmed rumours and announced on air that he will retire at the end of the year.
He said:
“It’s been an absolute privilege to sit in this room every weekday for the last 24 years. [Radio] is the most intimate of media, but it’s also the very best media.
It’s Friday the 13th so nothing could possibly go wrong, Friday the 13th will be my last day here broadcasting.”
Bevan had a background in print and ABC television news starting in radio on the Mornings program in 2000 alongside Philip Satchell.
In 2002, Bevan joined with Matthew Abraham (the pair pictured above) and presented Mornings for a decade together before a move to Breakfast. He currently also presents ABC Radio Adelaide’s front page, from 8:30 to 9am alongside the breakfast team of Sonya Feldhoff and Jules Schiller, where he made the announcement this morning.
