ABC Radio Australia can now be found on your digital radios in Australian capital cities and the Gold Coast and Launceston. Alongside a two year expansion into the Pacific, now the best in Pacific news, music, sport and culture will be available via DAB+ in Australia too.
With the addition, the ABC has needed to make adjustments to some other networks. On your DAB+ radio in your car or at home search for ABC Radio Australia by name. If unsuccessful you may need to retune your radio first. All ABC DAB+ networks generally enjoy a higher audio quality than most, with ABC Classic 112kbps and ABC Jazz 88kbps bitrates, around 2-3 times higher than the standard 32kbps.
It is likely we will see ABC Radio Australia in future GfK Radio 360 survey results too, but not perhaps metro survey 1 for 2026, which is out on Thursday March 19.
