ABC rural now covering more areas

The ABC has transformed it’s ABC Rural online site to further strengthen its commitment to providing a comprehensive news service to rural and regional Australia.

ABC Rural Editor Leigh Radford expects the website to attract a diverse range of audiences interested in food, fibre and mineral production; the politics and innovation of land use; and topical debates about the future of food and climate.

Radford said: “The new website is an exciting development for both the ABC and our audiences. We’re really excited about the introduction of new features including interactive market data for key rural commodities and an option for visitors to feature agricultural industries specific to their needs. Couple this with the combined resources of ABC Radio, Television & News, and the ABC Rural website delivers audiences incredible insights through news & analysis, whether from the land or sea.”

ABC Rural online focuses on five main sector groups within Australia including horticulture, livestock, grains, mining and fibre as well as drilling down into 23 other industry pages.
