Adelaide’s 88.7 Coast FM wins three Bilby awards for excellence in radio

Adelaide community radio station 88.7 Coast FM has won three awards at the 2010 Bilby’s, the South Australian Community Broadcasters Association’s awards that recognise excellence in community radio.

 

Over a large contingent of categories and nominations, 88.7 Coast FM took out three categories for “Best on air commercial” and two for “Compelling on air Interviews.”

 

Winners Brian and Laura Vercoe claimed victory with an interview with long time singer and star Connie Francis. Brian says he was amazed at how accessible Connie made herself to the South Australian community station.

Christine Easton took runner up with her interview with long time rocker Wanda Jackson, recently in Adelaide for a concert at the Gov Hotel. Wanda Jackson had the Top 40 pop hit “Let’s Have A Party.” 

The two person Coast FM creative team Scriptwriter/Director Chris “Crash” Carpenter and Producer Karin Petrus won with a station sponsorship announcement for Blackwood business Snazzy Boutique.

 

Adelaide’s 88.7 Coast FM focuses on the over 40s listeners with real music live and local 24 hours around the clock. With a weekly listener base of 90,000 Coast fm hope to continue to increase it’s presence in the Adelaide community sector.
