AFTRS students are now broadcasting on 2NRS

Students of the Graduate Diploma in Radio and Podcasting at AFTRS have been busy researching, recording and editing and are now on air for their second broadcast of the year with 2NRS streaming on iHeartRadio until Saturday 25 June.

2NRS is a national adult contemporary station with a regional focus. Programming includes vibrant personality-driven content combined with music, local news, podcasts and online content.

Radio professionals from across the country have guided students in the station build and will aircheck and coach the class throughout the broadcast.

Coaches will include Digital Product Manager SCA/Listnr Alex Mitchell, Hit Central Coast announcer Nic Kelly, Triple M Gold Coast Assistant Content Director Rod Maldon, Star 102.7 Cairns Content Director Allan Sheppard, i98 Workday announcer Cam Hilder, Podcast producer Diamantina Media Mandy Coolen, 91.9 SEA FM Drive Announcer Luke Toohey, Host of ABC RN’s Awaye Rudi Bremer, Cada newsreader Grant Maling, SCA Regional Content Director Duncan Potts, and ABC Content maker Kim Napier.

AFTRS alumnus Allan Sheppard is set to coach the students in connecting with regional audiences across Australia and says, “I look forward to working with students to bring out their creativity and making great content for audiences,” Allan says. “As an AFTRS grad myself, I know how important the broadcasts can be to building real-world skills that prepare graduates for working in radio and podcasting.”

AFTRS Program Convenor, Radio and Podcasting, Natalie Pozdeev, says, “The Graduate Diploma in Radio and Podcasting course offers experiential learning, including live broadcasts. 2NRS allows students to put into action learning in all aspects of audio production, content creation, news headlines and live-to-air announcing, as well as connecting with audiences across the country.”
