AFTRS students launch Show Radio 2009

Is it possible to hold a microphone whilst milking a cow? Radio students from the Australian Film Television and Radio School are about to find out.

As the voices of Show Radio, the official broadcaster of the 2009 Sydney Royal Easter Show, AFTRS Radio students will be put to the ultimate microphone-holding test. They’ll be challanged to keep their grip while knee-deep in cattle manure, sky-high on the death defying Kamikaze or fighting for air in the throngs of the Showbag Pavillion.

AFTRS Radio student Christian Hull has told radioinfo:

“We’ve been told to get the story no matter what, but just don’t drop that microphone! In the past students have strapped microphones to their head, football headgear style, just to capture the moment. This year’s class is prepared to go even further if we have to.”

Show Radio will provide show and transport information to audiences in every corner of Sydney Olympic Park, Sydney-wide on 107.9FM and online at aftrs.com.au from April 9-22.

“We’ll be bringing our listeners all the must-have show information. There is so much to do at the show we just want to make sure they know where to star.”

If they can just hold on to their microphones…
