AirCheck, a leading company in automated audio identification is adding Perth to the AirCheck national network which already includes Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
AirCheck is a subscriber-based web service, using patented technology, to match audio to
fingerprints of thousands of commercials and songs every day. This allows subscribers to
consolidate airplay information from each major market on the eastern and western
seaboards with this 24 hour seven day monitoring service.
The current subscriber base for this technology includes all major record companies
(Universal, Warner Music, EMI, Sony/BMG) and all major radio networks. (Austereo, DMG and ARN) Several advertising agencies are already subscribing in response to their clients’ increasing desire for market intelligence and independent verification of their on-air placement.
Keith Williams, Managing Director of RCS Australia Pty. Ltd. told radioinfo: “Perth is one of the most competitive radio markets in the country. There is too much at stake to not use AirCheck’s almost real time data to verify your position and that of your competitors in a marketplace.”
“The fact that you can now consolidate this data over 5 markets makes AirCheck a very
powerful business tool.”
With the launch of the Aircheck service in Perth comes the introduction of Exemption
Reports, an automated feature, which gives subscribers an instant snap shot of the pre
broadcast times compared to actual on-air placement. The report then highlights any
exemptions.
AirCheck currently provides weekly Top 20 songs and Top 20 commercials by airplay in
each market to their subscribers, the first time in Australia such extensive charts have been produced based purely on airplay.
Prior to the debut of AirCheck in Australia the company claims there was no accurate method of verifying airplay of a commercial or song. With AirCheck’s recognition technology, the access is instant and the process is simplified.
