Ali Clarke makes the move to Mix in Adelaide

Ali Clarke will head a new breakfast show on Adelaide’s Mix102.3 after leaving ABC Radio Adelaide at the end of last year.

The Ali Clarke Breakfast Show kicks off on Monday January 31 with Erin Phillips and comedian Eddie Bannon  joining Ali on air.

Previous host Soda left the show last year.

ARN’s Chief Content OfficerDuncan Campbell says, “We’re very excited to be bringing a fresh, vibrant show to Adelaide in 2022. Ali Clarke brings extensive radio broadcasting kudos and is much loved in Adelaide, and together with Erin Phillips, plus the humour and wit of Eddie Bannon guarantees The Ali Clarke Breakfast Show will be a fantastic offering for listeners of Mix102.3.

“Erin had a fantastic year and was nominated as the Best Newcomer On-Air in the 2021 Australian Commercial Radio Awards, a testament to her dedication and hard work. Mix102.3 listeners have really embraced her.

“Together, with their knowledge and passion for Adelaide, Ali, Erin and Eddie are the perfect combination for a unique breakfast show in the market. This new show will further strengthen our relationship with listeners and we know audiences will embrace them wholeheartedly.”

Of joining Mix 102.3, Ali Clarke says, “I have always been a massive fan of Erin, knowing her through the Crows, so to work with her every morning will be a joy. Eddie Bannon followed me home from the Fringe Festival and we have been mates ever since. I’m glad to be back at ARN and Mix where my radio career started in 2003. It’s a full circle moment for me and I’m very happy.”

Ali had an unhappy Christmas according to a column she has begun writing for In Daily. All her family caught covid.

“Considering how many years I spent longing to see a pink stripe on a test while trying to have children, it seemed pretty perverse that the first positive one I ever got was on a Rapid Antigen Test for COVID…”

Erin Phillips says, It’s such a privilege to be a part of this team. I’ve known Ali a long time and she is brilliant at her profession and cares so much about her team. I am really looking forward to learning from her and working alongside her every day. Eddie is a mastermind with so much energy and his infectious humour will bring a lot of laughs and excitement to the show. Ali and Ed are wonderful, genuine people and I know we are going to have a lot of fun.”

On landing a full-time radio gig Eddie Bannon says, “All jokes aside – this is a spectacular job for me! What comedian doesn’t like to have a laugh and share stories every morning and, cherry on top, get paid for the privilege; it’s a dream come true, especially alongside Ali who I’ve worked with for years and Erin who I am looking forward to working with.”

Mix102.3 has appointed a new Executive Producer on The Ali Clarke Breakfast Show with Shaun Sandilands at the helm.

With a proven track record in radio producing, Shaun was previously the Executive Producer at 4KQ in Brisbane and in 2021 he led the breakfast team in what was their best ever ratings year.
