Kim Wilde’s 80s Show will air exclusively on smooth every Saturday night from 7pm to 9pm from 22 January.
With hits tracks including “Kids in America”, “Chequered Love” and “You Keep Me Hangin’ On” synonymous with the 80s, Wilde has sold over 10 million albums, 20 million singles and holds the record for the most charted British solo act of the 80s.
NOVA Entertainment’s Head of Programming smoothfm, Peter Clay, says, “That decade had so many great tracks and to have an icon of the 80’s hosting her show on smooth is a real treat for our listeners.
Wilde continues to record and perform and in 2021 celebrated her 40th year as performing artist with the release of Pop Don’t Stop: Greatest Hits. In addition to being a DJ on Magic in the UK on Sundays, Wilde is an award wining landscape gardener and has published two gardening books.
Only recently her career was at a low, but a tipsy train ride home and sing-song set for passengers set her back on the road to stardom.
Wilde is already a part of smooth’s $10,000 Missing Word competition that is currently running on the network.
Kim Wilde is the latest high profile artist to join the smoothfm line-up including Robbie Williams, Ronan Keating, Sir Rod Stewart, Michael Bublé, Olivia Newton-John, Neil Diamond and Elton John.
