Aloisi resigns or “boned” at 2UE?

2UE program director,Sandy Aloisi has become the latest casualty at 2UE announcing she will be departing the station next Friday.

The Sydney Daily Telegraph’s Confidential column claims today that the senior industry figure and station veteran of more than 15 years has been shafted from her long running gig at Southern Cross Broadcasting.

This is at odds with the statement by Southern Cross managing director Tony Bell in a separate story on radioinfo that: “Sandy Aloisi has chosen to resign. There is no animosity, it was just her time to sit back and take a breather for a while.”

Confidential, says she is the latest victim of the so-called “restructure” of the station which has seen the punting of nine staff and its general manager in the past three weeks.

General manager Ian Sheppard sacked nine staff at the start of the month, including marketing manager Paul Bowd and a new reporter just one week into the job, before he quit himself and joined Channel Nine a week later.

Meantime sources have told radioinfo “the working atmosphere in the station is quite depressing with so many empty chairs at desks and staff morale at an all-time low.”
