Andy teams up with new parters for Today’s summer fill in

As the ratings year nears its end and stations start thinking about summer holidays, the Today Network is planning some new initiatives for its national summer breakfast show. Andy Lee will team up with funny man Glenn Robbins and Cackling Jack to host ‘The Summer Fill In Show’.

Ratings wrap up on Friday 2 December, and the network will give all its regular hosts time off from that date. The newly formed trio will be on air from December 5 for two weeks.

Andy Lee says: “I’m confident that all the decent broadcasters are on holiday and unavailable, so the station asked me. Quite a risk considering I haven’t been up before 10am since High School”.

Hotting up the final summer weeks starting 19 December is the Will & Woody Show. The down-to-earth duo have attracted much interest on their FOX FM night show which launched recently in Melbourne.

Dave Cameron, Head of Today Network for Southern Cross Austereo said: “We’re excited about our summer line-up which is the perfect time to give our listeners something different – what a combination with Andy, Glenn and Jack.  And we’re excited about introducing Will & Woody to Australia. They’re excellent new talent who have an infectious charm about them and a cheeky sense of humour.  We’re certain Today Network’s summer line up will add something special to people’s mornings”.

Over at rival DMG, details are also beginning to emerge about their summer fill in plans.  Mark Bosnich along with Andrew ‘Marto’ Martin will host Sydney’s 95.3FM’s  Summer Sin Bin.

The show will cover all the hot sport over summer, including the upcoming Test, Twenty 20 and One Day international Summer of Cricket, the A – League season and much more.  The Summer Sin Bin will feature exclusive player interviews and plenty of opinionated talk-back interaction.

Paul Jackson dmg’s Group Program Director says: “Mark has an infectious personality, is a great story teller and fanatical about all sports. I’m delighted to have Bozza on the 95.3FM team”

Bosnich is currently part of the Fox Sports Commentary team for the A League Season and is a former Socceroo, and player in the English Premier League with Manchester United, Chelsea and Aston Villa.
