ARN and iHeartRadio unite to help save little lives

ARN Executive and on air teams show their support for Red Nose Day, today,  to help save little lives as part of a partnership between ARN, iHeartRadio and SIDS and Kids.

Celebrating its 28th anniversary in 2016, Red Nose Day brings much-needed attention and funding to SIDS and Kids’ research, education and bereavement programs for sudden and unexpected deaths in infancy with an aim to further reduce the number of sudden and unexpected deaths in babies and children in Australia, including stillbirth, SIDS and fatal sleeping accidents.

Since starting in the 80s, SIDS and Kids have reduced the sudden death of babies in Australia by a staggering 80%. But there are still over 3,000 babies that die suddenly ever year with no explanation.

The partnership involved a multi-faceted campaign including on-air and online promotion across ARN’s KIIS FM and Pure Gold radio networks and The Edge.

On-air talent across the KIIS and Pure Gold networks also showed their support by wearing a red nose, a new iHeartRadio station called Red Nose Radio launched for the month of June and Little Rockers Radio, already available on iHeartRadio, ran Red Nose Disco programming from June 1 and provided the sound track for the iHeartRadio Little Rockers Red Nose Disco public events at Luna Park Sydney, Luna Park Melbourne and Bounce Tingalpa in Brisbane on June 16.

With a primary aim to raise awareness ahead of Red Nose Day, the SIDS and Kids fundraising teams were also on hand in each city at the discos to collect gold coin donations, and sell Red Nose Day merchandise including adorable plush toys, bracelets, necklaces, baby bandana bibs, pens and of course iconic red noses.

Through these donations and merchandise sales, the iHeartRadio Little Rockers Red Nose Discos collectively raised over $1,000 of which all proceeds will go towards SIDS and Kids’ world-class research, safe sleeping education and bereavement support for families impacted by sudden and unexpected death in infancy.

ARN have also made a cash donation to Red Nose Day, aiding SIDS and Kids with their lifesaving work on sudden and unexpected death in infancy.

Australians are encouraged to get involved by purchasing a red nose or other special Red Nose Day product online at rednoseday.com.au or from Big W, Target and other leading retailers.
