ARN’s Rob Atkinson a finalist for CEO of the Year

Rob Atkinson  is one of ten finalists for 2018’s CEO of the Year category in the annual Executive of the Year Awards.

To be eligible for the Media Executive of the Year award, applicants should demonstrate excellence in their role within the media industry in an Australian organisation i that reaches an annual turnover of $5m+.

Having taken the Australian Radio Network from the number three to number one radio network in Australia, Rob has overseen the launch of five new radio programs, and investment into digital and smart technology, to create “a futureproof market leader.”

 Media Executive of the Year Award winners will be announced on 21 November.

CEO Magazine put these two questions to Atkinson:

What’s the best decision you ever made?

“Taking a role in Dublin, Ireland, to run a newspaper group and implement a total overhaul and financial reset of the business. I was truly in at the deep end but the experience helped me learn how to thrive in adversity and develop resilience.”

What makes a good leader?

“The best leaders are authentic and consistent communicators, and inspire those around them with their clear vision and focus. A good leader builds trust through honesty and integrity and should have a strong sense of humility too, rooted in self-perception and awareness.”
