Australian radio strategist Phil Dowse has been invited to speak at Europe’s NAB Conference, to be held in Lisbon, Portugal, from 7 – 9 November.

As owner-operator of Phil Dowse Media, Adelaide-based Dowse is a strategist for international radio and entertainment companies and has become much sought-after as a speaker due to his knack for propelling radio stations to top market positions. At the conference Phil Dowse will address a session for Europe’s leaders in radio, on the topic of long term improvement in radio.
The NAB Conference is attended by the most influential players in radio from across Europe, as well as delegates from Australia and the US.
Dowse currently works with more than 50 networks and stations across the UK, Europe and Australia, including four of the most influential radio and media groups in Europe. His specialties include branding, market positioning and promoting. With unique strategies that don’t fit inside the square, Dowse’s tactics and ideas are known for generating hype, street talk and leaving his clients with the winning edge over their competitors.
Before setting up his own radio consulting company, Phil Dowse was Austereo Adelaide Group Programme Director and CEO of international radio consultancy ESPi. He has guided numerous stations across Europe and the UK to their best ratings results yet. The two stations he currently works with in Dublin have been names ‘station of the year’ in consecutive years in the Irish Radio Awards.
His philosophy for creating first-rate radio and listener loyalty is originality, innovation and, most importantly, stand-out tactics. He was awarded Strategist of the Year, Program Director of the Year and was Australia’s most experienced Radio Programmer. He has also held positions such as Music Director and National Promotions & Marketing Director. In the 1980s Phil was a Marketing Manager for Sony Music.
