AVW completes roll-out for remote indigenous radio broadcasters

AVW Broadcast has completed the long-term rollout of multiple FM radio rebroadcast solutions for remote indigenous radio broadcasters across Queensland, Northern Territories and WA including TEABBA, IRCA and PAKAM Broadcasters.

Given the potentially harsh environmental conditions, remote locations and accessibility constraints, long term equipment reliability and proven equipment performance was required.

AVW put forward a solution designed for radio rebroadcast capable of operating in challenging environments.

AVW sales manager Stefan Hunt says that there are now more than 80  FM rebroadcast locations across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, some sites with over 9-years of non-stop operation using AVW designed and engineered radio broadcast solutions.

Hunt went on to say that AVW’s Special Services Group (SSG) which is the project engineering, design and installation arm within the AVW group responsibly for designing and building these types of systems, has seen a significant uptake in project work over the past 12months reflecting the requirement for experienced Broadcast and RF solutions providers in the Australian and NZ marketplace.

AVW used a range of proven equipment choices for the projects from vendors including:

  • Australian company TeleDelta for signal capture, processing and system monitoring.
  • DB Broadcast (Italy) for highly efficient FM Transmitters from 30W-3000W with their Mozart and Mozart-DDS series
  • and other hardware from vendors including Broadcast Tools, RDL, Commscope and more.

Formed in 1983, AVW Limited is a major supplier of technical goods and services to the Broadcast, Pro Audio, AV and ICT industries in New Zealand, Australia, Pacific Islands and Southeast Asia.
