Actually the baby, due in March next year, will belong to Basil Zempilas (Baz) and wife Amy, but judging by this mornings on air announcement, they’re happy to share the kid with his breakfast co-hosts Lisa and Sam along with all their listeners.

Baz and Amy told family and friends over the weekend and shared the news live on air with Lisa, Sam and all of Perth this morning.

They are thrilled at the news and are basking in the glow of Amy’s morning sickness.

The couple are yet to find out the sex of the baby. And it’s still unknown whether the little one will inherit the infamous Zempilas nose.

“On one of the first scans the baby’s hand was behind its face and it looked like it had a huge nose … Even the doctor was laughing,” Amy told Lisa and Sam.

Baz is looking forward to swapping baby and breast feeding stories with Lisa and recruiting Sam for babysitting duty when the bundle arrives.

“It’s really exciting, I’ll be 40 next year and it’s later in life to be starting a family so you get to a point where you think ‘Well come on, I just want to get on with it’,” Baz said.
