Bay FM makes Mr Paparazzi famous

He may not be the most popular person among the celebrities he snaps for a living, but Paparazi King, Darryn Lyons is the toast of his hometown, Geelong – which is where he chose to launch his book “Mr. Paparazzi”.

Lyons, a former Geelong boy and good friend of Bay FM breakfast host Paula Kontelj, wanted to stay true to his roots and launch the new book among friends.

Kontelj said of Lyons, “Everyone in Geelong is just so proud of Darryn, it’s great to see a local make it onto the world stage and it’s great that Geelong’s local radio station, Bay FM can support him.”

Ironically the launch at Griffiths Book Store in Geelong received widespread attention which is something Lyons finds quite amusing.

The book is an interesting glimpse inside the media mogul’s world, looking at his early days staring death in the face as a war zone photographer, the break up of his marriage, drug abuse and, of course, right at the start as a photographer for a local Geelong paper.
