Bec Wilson gets teary

With her imminent departure from the vega 95.3fm breakfast show the strain of the past five years is starting to show on Rebeeca Wilson as she slowly unravels on air before she leaves at the end of October.

Bec couldn’t hold back the tears as she talked about her eldest son Tom finishing his last day of school. Of course, Tony & Mikey joked that they’d only mentioned it to see Bec cry again. Click here to listen.

On a different note, Bec plans to compete at The World Masters Games on Friday October 16, throwing Discus. Bec was a former schoolgirl champion in QLD and got to state level. She recently realised she could still throw, so Tony & Mikey challenged her to enter the World Masters Games competing in the 45-49 yr age group.

World Discus Champion Dani Samuels, who is expected to represent Australia in the 2012 London Olympics, has agreed to be Bec’s coach in the lead up to the games. Click here to listen.
