He is the radio industry’s most awarded individual with 16 ACRA/Rawards to his name. But a bulletin he was reading on 2UE last week proved that Steve Blanda was human after all. Hopefully he hasn’t blown award number 17.

With the judges having met on Friday to decide who gets this year’s ACRA for Best Newsreader, Steve would have been hoping that either they hadn’t heard it or that they wouldn’t dismiss a whole year’s body of work because of a simple blooper.

Steve, known for his precise reads says, “I used to get upset about stuff ups. Now I just forget about it and move on.”
