Kyle Sandilands was trying hard to avoid any repetition of his recent mistakes as he returned to air this morning, beginning the show with a blessing from a priest.

Reverend Gavin Wood from the Metropolitan Community Church in Petersham blessed the show and wished the team well for their first day back together again after Kyle’s suspension for a second lot of offensive comments about Magda Szubanski.

Kyle told listeners he embraced the counselling he was required to attend, and was glad to get rid of the remaining evil with a blessing. He also said he was bored during his enforced time off:

“It’s been so long, I’ve been so bored … getting suspended is very boring. I realised I’m a boring person without work … no other interests, zero.”

Jackie O was teamed with guest hosts Andrew G, Dannii Minogue and Brian McFadden during Kyle’s absence.

Kyle’s first show back ran over time, finishing about 9.25am.
