With Jeff Allis working in radio years ago, many of his radio friends invested in his wife’s fledgling company Boost Juice.
Janine Allis, who is now appearing on Survivor was on air with Hughesy & Kate and told a story about a radio executive who invested in her Boost Juice franchise in the early days.
He then sold his original Boost Juice shares to buy an engagement ring for his new girlfriend.
Janine confirmed that those shares would probably now be worth $18 million dollars if he had kept them.
“It’s probably the most expensive engagement ring ever purchased in Australia,” she said.
Listen to the full interview below.
Hughesy "...is it true that one of them sold his shares to buy a diamond...engagement ring for his girlfriend..." who According to Ms Allis are "...together....", "....the most expensive engagement ring in Australia....", according to Hughesy.
This is the risk of being involved in early stage investment where one of the initial shareholders needed to redeem those shares to buy a ring.
There is the risk that the business may not work or the chance that the extent of the initial value of the shares should significantly 'boost', excuse the pun.
But then, "....you can't put a price on love..."
