Brisbane Breakfast Radio: B105 team sign new contracts, Susie O’Neill departs Nova 106.9

There’ll be some additional changes on Brisbane breakfast radio in 2025 with Nova 106.9‘s Susie O’Neill announcing she will depart her show with Ash Bradnam and David ‘Luttsy’ Lutteral at the end of the radio year, after a decade of early mornings, to pursue other goals.

Meanwhile, the top breakfast show in Brisbane, B105‘s Stav, Abby & Matt, Stav Davidson, Abby Coleman and Matt Acton (pictured L-R above), have inked long term contracts with SCA to stay with the network. The trio have worked together for seven years.

Susie was emotional as she said on air:

“I do this with a very heavy heart, this decision wasn’t easy. Ash and Luttsy are like brothers to me, they brought me into their world a little over a decade ago and they have always been my biggest supporters. We have formed an incredible bond over the years, which made this decision even harder. I’m proud to call them my friends, as I am the entire Nova breaky team.

“It’s hard for me to articulate exactly why I’m leaving. I think turning 50 last year I realised I’m at a whole new stage in my life. Our kids have grown up and I just feel the next chapter will see me pursue other goals, both professionally and personally.

“I feel like I want to get back to the grass roots of sport, and to involve myself more in the wider community. And while it’s going to be an emotional final day on November 28 saying goodbye to everyone, including our listeners, I do know whatever this next chapter brings, that my Nova family won’t be far away.”

Stav, Abby & Matt have had a great 2024 on B105, leading in Breakfast all year. On committing to Brisbane and breakfast for a few more years they said:

Abby:

“I’m somehow still getting used to the early morning alarm, but it’s magic that I get to spend the morning with lifelong friends, and we will never take our loyal listeners for granted.”

Matt:

“Continuing our show on B105 Breakfast will take us past a decade of Stav, Abby & Matt together, but it feels like we’re only getting started. What a privilege it is to wake up Brisbane every morning.

and Stav said:

“I’ve always hoped to be a ‘1 Club player’ and next year will bring me to 20 years at B105, and I can honestly say I love it more today than any other time I’ve been here.”

About Susie, NOVA Entertainment’s CEO, Peter Charlton said:

“Susie is an enormous talent who, alongside Ash and Luttsy, has built a unique connection with the Brisbane audience for over a decade. Seeing her transform from medal winner to consistent ratings winner has been an absolute pleasure and Susie will always be a part of the NOVA family.”

Susie will present her final Nova 106.9 breakfast show on Thursday, November 28 with the lineup for 2025 to be announced soon.
