Broncos back on 4BC

Brisbane’s 4BC has secured the exclusive commercial radio rights to broadcast live coverage of every weekend Broncos match for the next three years.

The announcement means Talk 1116 Brisbane’s 4BC will be the home of the Broncos for live game commentaries, with every Saturday and Sunday Broncos game carried in full. The game of the day on Saturday and Sunday will also be broadcast, plus the final series, the Grand Final and the State of Origin.

Ray Hadley’s Continuous Call team starts at noon every Saturday and Sunday, with a preview of the day’s games before calling the Game of the Day (starting at 11am until daylight saving ends).

Broncos Managing Director, Bruno Cullen, welcomed the news that 4BC would again be covering the NRL Telstra Premiership in 2003. “From an NRL perspective, these broadcasts are of great benefit to all supporters of rugby league and the exposure the game receives from them is very beneficial to all of us,” he said. “The continued support of 4BC confirms their commitment to the game.”

Ray Hadley, 4BC’s Number One caller for the season, predicts another successful year. “I’m excited to be back on 4BC. Obviously it’s going to be a very exciting season, and we’ll be calling the Broncos first game, on Sunday March 16, against the Panthers.”

In Round One, Talk 1116 Brisbane’s 4BC will cover the double-header at Telstra Stadium on Saturday March 15 – Wests Tigers v St George Illawarra Dragons from 4.30pm and the Bulldogs v South Sydney Rabbitohs from 6.30pm. Then on Sunday 16, the Broncos’ season debut as they face the Penrith Panthers at the Penrith Football Stadium from 2pm.

General Manager David McDonald says he is “extremely satisfied to secure the rights to call NRL for the next three years. This not only confirms our commitment to sport and the NRL, it also reaffirms our commitment to the Brisbane Broncos.”
