Bruce Lees announces his retirement

After so many years of hearing the alarm go at silly o’clock, GOLD Central Victoria‘s breakfast announcer Bruce Lees will be hanging up the headphones on Friday 1st February.
 
Bruce began his career at 3WM in 1981 as an announcer/ technician before moving to Melbourne to take up a role with 3AK in 1986 as an announcer/ technician.

In 1987- 88 Bruce moved to ABC Western Victoria as brekky announcer, finally settling in Bendigo with 3CV in 1988 as announcer, sales & technician, moving into the role of station manager from 1999 to 2014 and breakfast announcer.

He relinquished the role as station manager in 2014 to concentrate on breakfast.

Current Station Manager Shane Hogan says Bruce has been the voice of Central Victoria for over 30 years and will be missed not only by listeners, also all members of staff.

GOLD Central Victoria Content Director Daniel Brewer says it has been “a pleasure to work with Bruce during his time with GOLD Central Victoria and wish him and his family all the best for retirement.”

The New Wake Up Call will start 5:30am Monday 4th March.
