Bundy finalists in national awards

Bundaberg Broadcasters’ staff are celebrating being named Finalists in 3 categories at this year’s Australian Commercial Radio Awards.

BEST ON AIR TEAM: Bryce Ruthven and Tracey Sergiacomi – Hitz 939
BEST MUSIC SPECIAL: Bryce Ruthven and Tracey Sergiacomi, Hitz 939
BEST ACHIEVEMENT IN PRODUCTION: Brendan Egan with Troy McInnes

Bryce and Trace (pictured), from Hitz 939 Breakfast, are in the running for not only Best On- Air Team, but also for a music special they created to celebrate Guy Sebastian performing in Bundaberg. This follows on from their recent success in the XTRA Research Bundaberg Survey #1 2016, where they became the Number One Radio Show in Bundaberg.

Bundaberg Broadcasters General Manager Trish Mears says it is a great achievement: “To be the most listened to show in Bundaberg is wonderful, but to then be judged by an expert panel to be amongst the best in Australia is really icing on the cake.”

Bryce and Trace are rapt to be Finalists. “It was great to be recognised by our listeners and it tops it off by being recognised by industry experts. Bring on Melbourne!” Bryce said. “2016 has already been a great year for us and to make finalist in 2 categories at this year’s awards is very exciting” added Tracey.

Brendan Egan, who is based in the Bundaberg studios, is in the running for an ACRA with co-producer Troy McInnes. “Troy and I are so happy to be nominated for this year’s ACRAS. It is such a honour just to be a finalist considering how many incredible producers we have in this country. All we have to do now is wait and see if we are lucky enough to win!” Brendan said.

The Award winners will be announced during the Australian Commercial Radio Awards in Melbourne in October and Bundaberg Broadcasters hope to come home with 3 Awards.
