Byron Cooke leaves The Shebang for love

Triple M’s Byron Cooke will leave the top-rating drive show The Shebang next month to move to the United States after finding love in Los Angeles.

Cook, who hosts The Shebang with Marty Sheargold and Fifi Box, is getting married to his American fiancé Crissy next year.

“I met her in LA when she was working with KIIS FM and we fell in love pretty quickly.I love The Shebang, but I love her more. I’ll be moving to LA as soon as I finish up on The Shebang on August 5.

“It’s been a wild ride with Marty and Fifi and I think they’ll continue to be one of the best drive shows in the country.”

Byron Cooke will continue to host Triple M’s Import/Export show on Friday nights from LA.

“It’s going to be a great opportunity to showcase some new music to Australia and chat to some great people in LA. I’ll also keep doing the show I do for some US alternative stations, Passport Approved, which has showcased new Australian artists like Missy Higgins, Wolfmother and Dallas Crane to America.”

Austereo group program director Guy Dobson has told radioinfo he wishes Byron all the best for his new adventure.
