Rugby league great Cameron Smith has made his next big career move, signing with Australia and New Zealand’s sports broadcaster Sports Entertainment Network.
SEN have confirmed Smith would co-host the weekly show, ‘The Captain’s Run’, every Wednesday at noon, alongside retired NRL player turned podcaster Denan Kemp, showcasing his passion for all sports, including rugby league.
Each Thursday Smith will join Pat Welsh and Ian Healy on SEN’s QLD ‘Breakfast with Pat and Heals’, heard on 1053 Brisbane, 1620 Gold Coast, and across regional QLD on the SEN network of stations and the SEN app.
Smith will also line up alongside an array of rugby league’s biggest names across 1170 SEN Sydney, including Matty Johns, Andrew Johns, Greg Alexander, Brett Kimmorley, Bryan Fletcher and Katie Brown, joining Breakfast with Vossy on 1170 SEN every Monday and Thursday.
Smith, who recently moved back to the Sunshine State after nearly two decades in Victoria, says he’d always wanted to explore radio and felt SEN was the right fit, “I have always been interested in radio and SEN’s plans for Queensland are very exciting.
“Co-hosting a show each week is something I’m looking forward to, as well as jumping on different shows across QLD and NSW and chatting with all of the listeners.”
With three NRL Premierships, 11 State of Origin series, and two World Cups, Smith is the most decorated rugby league player of all time. Recently retired, aged 37, he holds NRL records for most games, goals, points scored, and wins.
