Canberra Stadium sheep graziers alert

Over the years, Canberra Stadium has seen battles involving Bulls, Tigers, Cheetahs, Sharks, Roosters and many more. But never before has a flock of real sheep been herded onto the surface and encourage to devour the lushy goodness that curators have spent 1,000 of hours nurturing.

That all changes this Saturday as the as the journey of the Mix 106.3 Canberra Stadium Local Supporters Scarf begins.

This Saturday from 8am Mix 106.3’s Cam Sullings and Ben Pollack broadcast from Canberra Stadium where a flock of the finest Marino’s from Glenroy station north of Bredbo will munch away on the hallowed turf while the boys present their show of local events, sport and community happenings.

From there, the sheep go back to Glenroy where the turf is set to add a special touch and an extra fibre of local sporting royalty to each fleece.

After 12 months the Marino’s will be shorn and an army of local knitters will create the first ever local supporters scarves in the ACT’s beloved Raiders and Brumbies colours. The scarves will then be given to Mis 106.3 charities to be auctioned off at fundraising events over the course of the year.
