This Saturday, RSN Racing And Sport Melbourne will launch ‘Carnival‘, a new digital channel, on digital radio and smartphones.
Carnival will be a feature events channel, broadcasting on all of the greatest days of the Spring Racing Carnival, with a special focus on the day’s major meetings.
RSN’s Executive Chairman Michael Harms says Carnival “is racing’s next step into the digital age, an innovative new platform to provide the modern racing audience with more of the information and opinion they demand, in all three racing codes.”
The station’s focus will be on the big events, and “will give punters a choice of the racing service they want to hear, alongside our traditional service, RSN Racing And Sport… Carnival’s fresh presentation style will be unlike anything our listeners have heard before.”
Carnival’s first broadcast this Saturday will focus on the Turnbull Stakes meeting at Flemington, and the Epsom and Metropolitan meeting in Sydney. From 6:30am, Carnival will simulcast RSN’s On The Punt, then from 10am, Carnival will present its new racing service.
The Carnival service will feature a contemporary team of racing forecasters, alongside the mastermind of Daily Sectionals, Vince Accardi; bookmaker Alan Eskander from Betstar, providing corporate betting markets and trend analysis; and later, on Melbourne Cup Day, top apprentice jockey and one of the Faces of the 2012 Spring Carnival, Katelyn Mallyon.
Carnival can be received in Melbourne’s digital radio coverage area and is also available on smartphones, via the “Listen Live” feature on the RSN apps for iPhone and Android devices. The apps are free to download, at app stores, or via the links at RSN’s website.
