Cathy O’Connor, General Manager of Austereo Sydney for almost 9 years, will take up a senior appointment with DMG Radio Australia after the expiry of her Austereo contract on December 31, this year.

DMG Radio will appoint O’Connor to the position of Managing Director, Metropolitan Stations, DMG Radio Australia.

She will assume responsibility for the operations of DMG stations in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth in this new role and will be based at Nova 969 in Sydney.

DMG Radio Australia Chief Executive, Paul Thompson, told radioinfo: “It is central to the DMG strategy to build an Australian executive team of unparalleled calibre and capacity. In this context, Cathy O’Connor’s awesome abilities make this a natural, almost predictable appointment. I could not be more pleased that Cathy will join us in January.”

Michael Anderson, currently Director of Sales, Strategy and Development will take over the role as acting General Manager at Austereo Sydney until a permanent appointment is made.
