Cathy O’Connor will leave Nova in the new year

Cathy O’Connor is leaving Nova and heading to oOH!media in the new year.
 
Cathy’s appointment follows the announcement from oOH!media founder and CEO Brendon Cook that he was stepping away from the role, though he will stay with the business until the end of 2021.

Cathy says, “Despite the challenges of 2020, the out-of-home sector is an exciting place to be in, with strong growth prospects and increasing prominence in a digital future.

“oOh! is a great business with an extensive national reach backed by both leading data smarts and a fantastic team of professionals that are the best in their field.

“I am looking forward to joining the team and building on oOh!’s success and guiding the Company’s next phase of growth.”

Nova COO Peter Charlton (pictured right) will succeed Ms O’Connor on 2 November 2020, having spent eight years in his current role and more than 20 years in the media industry.
 
Executive Chairman Lachlan Murdoch says, “Cathy has been a great leader of the NOVA team. NOVA Entertainment is the number one commercial radio network in Australia and is continuing to outperform the industry in a challenging time. I know she will do well in her new role.”

Peter Colosimo will become Chief Operating Officer and Murdoch says, “Today’s appointments of Peter Charlton and Pete Colosimo reflect the depth of talent we have at NOVA Entertainment. Our ratings success this year has demonstrated the strength of NOVA and the creativity of all our team. Peter and Pete have the operational and commercial experience to accelerate that success and our growth.”
