CBAA Conference registrations now open

Registrations are now open for the 2025 CBAA Conference in Hobart, Tasmania from 23–25 October. The event is the annual gathering for Australia’s community broadcasting sector for station staff, volunteers, technologists, content makers, media professionals and policymakers from across the country, offering a diverse program of workshops, panels and networking events culminating in the CBAA Community Broadcasting Awards Gala Dinner, celebrating the people and stations creating impact across Australia.
Entries for the awards and conference scholarship applications are also now open. This year successful scholarship recipients will be offered a travel subsidy of $400 on top of the usual costs covered.
Nat Grant, Station Manager at 3MDR in Victoria, said:
“I received a scholarship in 2024 and it was my first time attending the CBAA Conference, and I was made to feel really welcome by all the other station staff and volunteers I met. The opportunity to also be a part of a panel on live music was really rewarding, and I’m glad to have given back to the event in a small way. It’s so important that smaller stations are given the chance to participate in this fantastic event.”
This year’s program features keynote addresses from ABC Radio Sydney breakfast presenter Craig Reucassel (War on Waste, Fight for Planet A) on the power of storytelling and media to drive social and environmental change, and Adrian Sargeant, an internationally recognised expert in nonprofit and media fundraising.
