8 November 2023 I attended Amplifying Local News, Disaster Preparedness and Making Engaging Current Affairs sessions at last week’s Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) conference. They were all informative and exceptional, with the underlying message being how important, and at times essential, community radio news is to regional and underrepresented areas and groups of Australia.
4 November 2023 The 2023 Community Radio Awards were announced at a gala dinner held at the Adelaide Oval to wrap up the annual three day Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) conference. 31 October 2023 It passed quietly but February 2023 was the 10th anniversary of Jon Bisset taking over as General Manager, now Group CEO of The Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA). He’s also CEO of RPH which has branched into Powerd Media, but more on that launch later.
21 October 2023 Roadmap 2033, a ten-year plan for community broadcasters to achieve greater impact in every Australian community, was released today at a launch event held in Blacktown with the document presented to the Hon Michelle Rowland MP, Minister for Communications.
10 October 2023 The 2023 Community Radio Awards finalists have been announced with the winners to be revealed along with the recipients of the Michael Law and Tony Staley Awards at the CBAA Annual Conference being held at the Adelaide Oval from November 2 to 4.

According to Tracka statistics shared by Paul Amos, the Managing Director of Xtra Insights, music makes up just 1% of the content on a typical Kyle and Jackie O breakfast show. I think you would hear more than that percentage if you listened into John Laws, or Ray Hadley.
14 June 2023 In 1974 a small group of enthusiastic radio makers met for a conference in Sydney forming the PBAA, The Public Broadcasting Association of Australia. Later changing the P to a C for Community, the 49th such meeting of the CBAA will be held from November 2-4, 2023 at the Adelaide Oval.
