As Luke Hetherington, the Promotions & Marketing Director for Super Radio Network stations NEWFM & 2HD Newcastle said on Linkedin:
“While we hear others in the media world are cutting local content, we’re doubling down on it! At Sandgate (and across the SRN) we’ve tweaked a few things.”
The two Newcastle stations have seen a reshuffle and a new show.
NEWFM will now start the day with Nic & Joel (Nicole Somerville and Joel Gosper) with former breakfast show The NOVOS Ari & Krivo (Ariana Gatti and Mark Krivo) taking over drive from 3pm weekdays.
On the SRN’s other station 2HD, Brent Bultitude is back on workdays from midday (and also on Sydney’s 2SM) with a new local news and information afternoon show introduced yesterday, May 5, called The Hunter Today with Dave Cochrane from 3pm. Talking Sport has shifted to just an hour following the new show with 2SM broadcasting the whole three hours.
The change has already been well received by Novocastrians:
Elsewhere for the network, Parkes has a new Station Manager of 2PK and The ROK.
Greg Magnus (main image) has taken over from Paul Batchelor who will now focus on managing the network’s group of QLD stations from his base in Toowoomba.
Greg has been working in the media in NSW, QLD and WA since the 1980s and actually started in radio at 2PK in 1989.
Mal Rock, the long time station manager of Mudgee SRN stations Real FM and 2MG has picked up additional responsibilities too, acting as manager for Dubbo stations 2DU and Zoo FM. Mal recently celebrated a significant birthday. To mark the occasion, and as part of a 2MG promotion asking listeners to recreate a classic album cover, Mal was given the opportunity to be the star on one of his personal favourites below.
