Changing radio stations started Bidwell riot

A woman at the centre of the Bidwell riot in Western Sydney last week claims that the family feud sprang from a fight over which radio station to listen to.

The woman has told The Daily Telegraph she had been at a party at No.8 Carlisle Ave when she attempted to change the radio station from the Aboriginal community station Koori Radio to ARN’s youth hip hop station 96.1.

She said her hand was slapped and she was attacked by other women at the house.

“All I wanted to do was change the radio station and then they started hitting me and pushing me into traffic,” the woman told the Telegraph.
