Ciaran Davis replaces Bob Longwell as ARN chief executive

The Australian Radio Network (ARN) has completed a
global executive search for a new CEO, appointing Ciaran Davis to replace
Bob Longwell, whose contract expires next week.

Davis joins ARN from Communicorp, a leading international commercial broadcaster operating one of eastern and central Europe’s largest independent radio groups. It has become a major player in the European media and telecommunications market, with 44 national, regional and local radio stations in Ireland, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Hungary,
Latvia, Ukraine and Jordan, broadcasting to over 13 million people weekly in a range of formats,
languages and music genres.

Most recently Ciaran Davis has been the group’s commercial director, where he has been responsible for
all operational and commercial aspects of the group’s radio assets. He has also held roles as CEO
and marketing director for 98FM, Dublin’s leading music station.

APN Group Radio and Outdoor chief executive Richard Herring says:

“It is testament to the strength of our brands, and indeed the growth potential of Australian radio as a whole, that we have been able to attract someone of the calibre of Ciaran Davis. . . [His] experience in building one of Europe’s leading radio networks will be instrumental in driving ARN’s commercial and cultural growth, extracting the maximum potential from MIX and Classic Hits,
particularly around new opportunities across digital and online.”

Davis will begin at ARN on 11 January 2010.
